Every winter, our new employees have the opportunity to experience planting rushes. Planting each seedling by hand in the water-filled field was much more challenging than expected. Despite the cold making our hands numb, we gained a renewed appreciation for the hard work that farmers put into growing igusa with such care every year.
The planted seedlings will grow over the coming spring and grow into fine rushes in the summer. Having experienced the planting process firsthand, we are even more excited to see how these seedlings grow into finished products!!
